PNG Converter Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about converting to PNG with BGResize — quality, transparency, privacy, and billing.

Is PNG Converter free?

Single-file conversion and download are free. Converting and downloading multiple files at once requires an active Pro subscription.

Do you upload my images to a server?

No. Decoding and encoding run in your browser with Canvas. We only record export entitlement when you download.

Which formats can I upload?

This page accepts JPG, PNG, or WebP. For other pairs, use the Convert menu.

Will quality drop when converting to

We use high-quality browser encoding. JPEG/WebP use a high quality setting; PNG is lossless. Source compression still limits what can be recovered.

What happens to transparency?

PNG keeps an alpha channel when the source has transparency (for example WebP or PNG). JPEG sources have no alpha to preserve.

Is there a file size limit?

Each file can be up to 25 MB. Larger batches are better handled after upgrading to Pro.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes — select multiple images. Batch downloads need a subscription from the Pricing page.

Do I need to install software?

No. BGResize runs in a modern desktop or mobile browser.

Why sign in?

Sign-in ties downloads to your account so we can apply free single vs subscribed batch rules. Image pixels still stay on your device for conversion.

Can I crop or resize after converting?

Yes. Use the main BGResize tool to crop, pick platform sizes, and export JPG, PNG, or WebP.
